Mandie Woodson

What education have you taken?

I took the Paralegal Assistant Program at SAIT in 2002/2003 and I will graduate with my Bachelor Degree in Science from BU in April 2014 with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology.

What accomplishments are you proud of?

I volunteer with the St. John Ambulance first aid brigade, am the co-chair of a ladies social club called ‘The Rosettes’, and run my own wedding and party planning business, ‘Flawlezz Eventz’.

Tell me about yourself/ background/ history.

I am 29 years old. I was born in Alberta and moved to Swan River, Manitoba when I was 8 years old. I am the oldest in a family of 4 kids – I have two younger sisters Chelsea (27), Hannah (14), and a younger brother Jesse (13). I work 2 jobs at Westman Regional Laboratory, here in Brandon, as a Pathology Assistant and as a Medical Laboratory Assistant. In my spare time I love to read and spend time with my two pugs, Onyx and Tiki.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

I am studying to write the MCAT this summer and will be applying to medical school next year. I have worked in the healthcare field for 10 years and would love to become a Gynecologist and one day open a women’s health clinic.

I have worked with Mandie this past term and I think that she definitely deserves recognition.  Her work ethic is definitely admirable!
