Alisha Poole
What education have you taken?
I am currently in my third year at Brandon University studying chemistry.
What accomplishments are you proud of?
I am very proud of my charity, fundraising, and volunteer work that I did in high school and hope to extend that to the Brandon University Chemistry Club in 2013/2014. Out of all my accomplishments I am proud of the scholarships I have been awarded while attending Brandon University, in particular the Sarah Harriet Hall Memorial Academic Scholarship and the Norman & Norah Adams Memorial Scholarship in Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry.
Tell me about yourself/ your background/ your history.
I was born and raised in Brandon, attending Riverheights elementary school and then Vincent Massey high school.
How did you become interested in your field of study?
I first became interested in chemistry in high school. I had a better understanding of chemistry than any other subject before and it was extremely interesting to me, with the perfect balance of concepts and calculations. My interest continued to grow when I took advanced placement chemistry in high school, and continues to grow as I take courses at Brandon University.
What is your philosophy in life?
My philosophy is to treat others as you would like to be treated and that hard work does in the end pay off.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
After obtaining my Bachelor of Science from Brandon University, I would like to obtain a PhD in chemistry, in the hope of one day becoming a professor.
