The faster we are all fully vaccinated, the faster we can get back together. Brandon University’s ‘Winning Shot’ campaign recognizes those in the campus community who are getting vaccinated, and offers the chance to win great prizes!
I'm a student
All students who are registered for classes in Fall 2021 term and are in good standing are eligible to win once they are fully vaccinated. Yes, this includes international students. Simply get vaccinated, and fill in the form.
Only one entry is permitted per person, and you can only win once.
People who are primarily students, and who are also employees of Brandon University (markers, research assistants, help desk, etc.) are considered students for the purposes of this initiative.
I'm an employee
All faculty and staff of Brandon University as of Oct. 31, 2021 are eligible to win. This includes employees of Campus Manitoba.
Only one entry is permitted per person, and you can only win once.
People who are primarily employees of Brandon University, and who are also taking classes, are considered employees for the purposes of this initiative.
I'm at the Winnipeg campus
Everyone is eligible! Simply get vaccinated, and fill in the form.
Because many of the prizes are tailored to services and amenities that are provided at the Brandon campus, for winners who are located in Winnipeg, we will be pleased to transfer the same value of your prize to a similar service/amenity in Winnipeg.
I'm not fully vaccinated
In order to win any prize, you must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with vaccines that have been approved in Canada. This means you must have received two doses of Moderna, or Pfizer, or Astra-Zeneca (or an approved combination), or one dose of Johnson & Johnson.
This initiative is designed to encourage and support full vaccinations in as many people as possible. If you are not eligible to be vaccinated at all, or choose not to, for whatever reason, you are ineligible to win a prize.
If you are selected as a winner, but are not yet eligible to have received your full vaccination (ie. recently-arrived International students) we may opt to hold your prize and give you reasonable time to complete your vaccination.
You must show proof of full vaccination to claim any prize.
When is the draw?
Entries must be received by midnight on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021. Winners will be notified the following week.
What can I win?
We have more than $10,000 worth of great prizes! We created a whole separate page.
I've already paid my tuition and fees
Tuition and fee credits must be applied to the 2021–22 Academic Year (Fall and Winter terms).
If your total owing is less than the credit you’ve won, you’ll be credited up to the amount owing.
If you’ve already made payments, we will reimburse you up to the total amount of the credit you’ve won.
I'd like to transfer my prize
Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash. Winners of a Brandon-based prize who are students or employees based at the Winnipeg campus will have the option of claiming a similar Winnipeg-based prize of equivalent value.

This sounds familiar…
Yes! Many organizations and jurisdictions are rolling out incentives to encourage vaccination. The vaccines are safe and effective — getting vaccinated helps protect you against Covid-19, and also helps protect everyone in the community.
We were directly inspired by similar contests at Assiniboine Community College and the University of Lethbridge.
