Mental Health First Aid Training (Student Services Initiative)

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The MHFA Canada program aims to improve mental health literacy, and provide the skills and knowledge to help people better manage potential or developing mental health problems in themselves, a family member, a friend or a colleague.

MHFA workshops are held on campus throughout the year, facilitated by MHFA certified Brandon University faculty. MHFA training workshops were held in spring and fall 2015 for BU students, faculty, and staff as well as the general public and will be held on an ongoing basis.

Mental Health at Work

Through a number of events and campaigns throughout the year, BU is supporting mental health at work.  Bell Let’s Talk Day, Not Myself Today and the Healthy Workplace campaigns are a few of the ways we are supporting students, faculty and staff in times of mental health distress.   Visit Mental Health at Work to learn more about the importance of caring for your own mental wellbeing.

Diversity
