Dr. Meg Carrington - Faculty of Science
Dr. Meg Carrington Professor, Department of Physics.
My area of research is theoretical high energy physics. I have experience writing grant proposals, presenting research at conferences and workshops, supervising students and postdocs, and establishing connections with other researchers in my field. Dr. Rosanne Gasse - Faculty of Arts
Dr. Rossanne Gasse Associate Professor and Chair of Native Studies – English & Creative Writing, Department of Anthropology.
While Rosanne specializes in medieval literature, she is more than able (and willing, thank goodness) to help women faculty through the modern issues in academia. Rosanne has extensive research experience, but is also particularly skilled in helping others navigate the following:
- Course outline requirements
- CAP forms (how to fill them out properly, particularly the rationale)
- Creating a program plan
- Roles and responsibilities as a Chair (and how to be an effective one!)
- How Senate functions
- Committee work and expectations
- Preparation for tenure and promotion
- Contextualizing departments/committee’s in BU’s history
- Grammar!
- Really – anything you want to know about how BU functions, and how to get things done, ask Rosanne.
