Laura is the mother of two young children, a lawyer, farmer and going into her second year as chair of the Brandon University Board of Governors.  Laura received her bachelor of civil law and a bachelor of common law from McGill University in Montreal.  She completed her bachelor of arts at Brandon University in political science and history. Laura completed her articles in 2005, and has been an associate of Meighen Haddad LLP since, practicing in the Souris branch office.  Laura has a solicitor’s practice in the areas of real estate, wills and estates, agriculture and corporate/commercial.  Laura’s life partner Dustin Williams farms near Souris with their family farm corporation Ash Haven Farms Ltd..   Laura enjoys community involvement and has had volunteer experience with a number of local charities and non-profit organizations, such as the Women’s Resource Centre, the YWCA Women’s Shelter, the Souris Daycare, the Assiniboine Regional Health Authority, and the Souris District Arts Council.
