Personal Protective Equipment
Since hazards exist in every workplace, Brandon University has strategies in place to protect workers including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
When possible, the priority should be the elimination and control of hazards at their source or along the path between the source and the worker.
However, when this cannot be achieved, PPE is considered as the last level of defense against hazards when all other methods are not available or possible.
PPE is one element of a safety program where a variety of strategies are put in place to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
Ensuring you have the required PPE is the first step and keeping your PPE in good working order is equally important to ensure your safety and health.
