This article presents community experiences related to influxes of temporary foreign workers hired to work at a hog processing facility in Brandon, Manitoba. Since temporary foreign workers in Manitoba can apply to the Provincial Nominee Program, local service providers are dealing with the impacts of a more-permanent-than-intended population of newcomers.
