GeoGuessr Social
Ever wonder if you have the most geographically aware department? Students: are you better than your profs?
Well, now you can prove it!
GeoGuessr is a Google maps based game where you are shown a street view image (in which you can pan, move, or zoom from). Based on this image, your task in the game is to figure out where in the world you are! Points are awarded on the closeness of the guess, with 5000 points for a perfect guess. In this game, you will guess the location of 5 custom GeoGuessr maps, all with a PCAG geographic spin ranging from Prairie landmarks, Canadiana, and geographically significant global landmarks.
Join us on Zoom with or without a team at 6:30 pm [CDT] on Friday, September 24th! We’ll use breakout rooms in Zoom for the teams, and one member of your team can share their screen with the others. All conference registrants will receive a Zoom link. Email Dr. Pete Whittington if you have any questions (whittingtonp@brandonu.ca).
For those joining the GeoGuessr social, please ensure you have a GeoGuessr account (either for yourself, or one member of your team if you’re playing as part of a team). There is a 10-day free trial with GeoGuessr.
