Marjorie Sparks
Marjorie Sparks career encompasses opera, oratorio and recital performances. She began her training at Brandon University and then completed a Voice Performance Degree at McGill University. She then attended the University of Toronto Opera School and also has a Degree in Education from the University of Toronto.
Ms. Sparks has sung opera roles with Opera Atelier of Toronto, The Banff Festival of the Arts, the Canadian Opera Company, Tapestry Theatre, and Opera in Concert and the Guelph Spring Festival. Her Oratorio performances have been extensive throughout Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba. She has presented many recitals as well.
Marjorie has had an established voice studio in Toronto for several years. She has trained many successful singers at all levels and ages. Her strong pedagogy background, performance experience, and extensive knowledge of the vocal repertoire have contributed greatly to her teaching success. Marjorie connects with her students at an artistic level and combines it with great people skills.
Her dream is to develop the beauty of each voice and to instill in every student a joy and confidence to express themselves and the music.
Marjorie has adjudicated numerous Voice festivals and presented Voice Workshops with prominent teachers in Toronto.
Ms. Sparks has recently returned to her home in Brandon. She is thrilled to be back with family and to have exciting opportunity to share her teaching within this wonderful music community.
