Canadian collaborative pianist, Danielle Guina, received her Master’s degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music under the direction of Dr. Jean Barr. Active in vocal and instrumental areas, Danielle has performed in concert and festivals in Canada, Italy, and the United States including SongFest, duo526's Sonata Seminar, the FCMF National Music Festival and the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival. Danielle received her Bachelor of Music degree in 2018 from Brandon University. She has received many awards and scholarships including the Brooks Smith Fellowship in Piano Accompanying, the Ruth and Arno Drucker Scholarship, the Brandon University Gold Medal for the Bachelor of Music Degree, and the Saskatchewan Arts Board Prince Edward Arts Scholarship. Danielle has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists Margo Garrett, Lydia Brown, Alan Louis Smith, Malcolm Martineau, Graham Johnson, Kevin Murphy, Alexandra Nguyen, Andrew Harley, Hila Plitmann, Nicole Cabell, Murray McLachlan, Andrei Pisarev, Douglas Finch, Futaba Niekawa, the Cecilia String Quartet and more, and has worked with composers Jake Heggie, David McIntyre, and Diego Vega.
Not only is Danielle a collaborative pianist, she is also a singer and educator. While completing her bachelor's degree in piano performance, she simultaneously completed an additional major in vocal performance under the direction of Naomi Forman. She has been a soloist with members of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra and the Brandon University Concert Choir and she has performed internationally as both a singer and pianist. She has toured within Canada as part of the Brandon University Chorale and has been involved with choirs, ensembles, and productions of all levels since the age of 7.
Danielle is passionate about sharing her love of music with others, and she has been teaching piano and voice to ages 4-75 privately for the past 10+ years as well as freelancing in the Brandon, MB area. She has also been a guest teacher and clinician to all ages and skill levels across the prairies in both piano and vocal areas. She currently is a Contract Academic Staff member at Brandon University, and teaches piano, voice, and theory at the Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music in Brandon, MB. She has a passion for learning, and is thrilled to be able to pass that on to creative young minds that will be the musicians of the future.
