The Brandon University Clarinet Festival is an exciting annual event that brings together professional musicians, music educators, clarinet enthusiasts, and students of all levels. Join us on Saturday, February 14th and Sunday, February 15th for the fifth annual BU Clarinet Festival featuring Connie Gitlin, Ian Tyson, and Tanya Derksen.

Great PD opportunity for educators and students of all ages! The festival events include:

  • Music Business Workshops with Tanya Derksen (all musicians welcome)
  • Masterclass by Connie Gitlin
  • Clarinets for Conservation Presentation by Ian Tyson
  • Mass Festival Clarinet Choir for all participants (all levels) directed by Dr. Wendy McCallum
  • Concerts featuring BU clarinet ensembles, mass festival clarinet choir
  • Evening concerts featuring guest artists Connie Gitlin, and Ian Tyson
  • Westman Honour Band and BU Symphonic Band concert featuring Artie Shaw’s Clarinet Concerto performed by BU’s own Dr. Cathy Wood
  • All events take place at Brandon University School of Music. Dorm and hotel rooms available.

McMaster Hall Residence Rooms

Double occupancy is $30/night/person plus applicable taxes

Single occupancy is $40/night plus applicable taxes

If students arrive after hours, please call RA on duty at 204-724-2263. That person will meet students at office, at the base of McMaster Hall, and get everyone set up with their keys, fob and pass.
