Academic / Thesis Advising
The Master of Psychiatric Nursing (MPN) Program Coordinator will advise students about course selections until a thesis advisor has been approved. A thesis advisor is normally approved by the time an MPN program student has completed 9 credit hours of the MPN program. MPN students seeking a thesis advisor will initially consult with the MPN Program Coordinator for options regarding thesis advisement. MPN program thesis advisors must first be approved by the MPN Program Steering Committee, after which they will assume responsibility for program planning and thesis development of their respective MPN student. The thesis advisor will also be responsible for developing and teaching the 75:656 Advanced Reading in Psychiatric Nursing course with each student. More detailed information is available in the policy on Program Advisement.
