Report a Sighting

Have you seen a grizzly bear or evidence of a grizzly bear in Manitoba?
There are two ways you can report a grizzly bear sighting in Manitoba.  
 
Option 1 – Download the iNaturalist app and search for the page called “Grizzly Bears in Manitoba”.

Scan the QR code below

Follow the steps through the iNaturalist page and input all relevant information regarding your grizzly bear observation.

Option 2 – Send an email to MCLAUGKL20@brandonu.ca or SABESKAM48@brandonu.ca to start a conversation with us. We will record/input your observation, images and any other relevant information into the iNaturalist ‘Grizzly Bears in Manitoba’ page for you.  

Why report a grizzly bear observation or evidence?
It will help Indigenous communities, researchers, outfitters, locals and the grizzly bear population in Manitoba. The more information that can be gathered and known about Manitoba’s grizzly bear population the more we can learn and adapt to co-exiting and reduce the amount of human bear conflicts.
