Off-Campus Access
If you are a student or faculty member at Brandon University, you can access databases from off campus.
This service is different from our Off Campus Library Service. If you are a distance education student looking for the Off Campus Library Service, or help with your research please follow the link to the appropriate web pages.
If you are accessing the library’s web site from off campus, most links on the library’s web site will first take you to the Proxy Authentication Page, where you can log in with your Brandon University username and password. Once you have logged in, you will be taken to the destination of the link. You should only have to log in once per session.
To log in, you will need your Brandon University username and password – the same username and password you use to log into the Brandon University network when you’re on campus. If you have not claimed your username and password or you are having trouble logging in with those, you should contact the Brandon University Computer Help Desk (Phone 571-8500 Monday – Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM). (If you have not yet claimed your username and password, then you can do so through the claimid program.)
This method of off-campus access does not work with the Opera or the Safari browser. JavaScript and Cookies should be enabled. Off-campus users of the Canadian Electronic Library Publishers Collection on the ebrary platform should only use the Internet Explorer browser.
There is still a username and password for off-campus access to EbscoHost that is independent of this. You can access EbscoHost through this method by clicking here. However, if you access EbscoHost through the EbscoHost username and password, you will still need to log into proxy software if you want to link to another resource from within EbscoHost.
