Edna Knock, professor emerita of Brandon University, is a well-regarded choir conductor and teacher. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Brandon University and a Master of Music degree from the University of Toronto. Edna also studied voice at McGill University and is a certified teacher in Kodály Music Training. She has conducted church and school choirs and directed CBC junior school music broadcasts in the Maritimes. Prior to teaching at Brandon University, Edna was a member of the Montréal Bach Choir. She wrote the series Sight Skills produced by CBC TV for use in schools in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Edna is an honorary member of the Kodály Society of Canada. In her retirement she pursues her lifelong interest in piano accompaniment and jazz improvisation.
