Duties:
– Offer tutorials on General Chemistry I (18:170) course and lab materials (including online assignments on LON-CAPA)
– Explain concepts and provide support to students with course related questions, assignments and practice problems
– Must be available on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 1:30p.m., and for another 1 hour (between 11:30 and 1:30p.m.) either on Wednesdays or Thursdays from January 21 to April 4, 2025
– Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience:
– Current Brandon University student
– Students majoring in Chemistry (3rd year or above) preferred
– Strong communication skills and ability to work one-on-one or with a group
– Ability to help students develop their problem solving skills with enthusiasm
– Demonstrated patience and ability to relate to students with varying learning styles
– Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
– Previous experience as a lab assistant or group tutor in Chemistry Department is an asset
