Qualifications/Experience:
Knowledge about trans identities and people is strongly preferred. Knowledge of the law, including trans rights, and/or previous experience interpreting legal cases is an asset but not required.
Students currently enrolled in the Gender and Women’s Studies program are preferred.
Duties:
Dr. Leon Laidlaw is hiring a Research Assistant II to work on a research project exploring the current landscape
of trans people’s legal cases in Canada. The research assistant will be responsible for locating relevant legal cases
by searching legal databases, entering information about the cases and organizing them in a table on Excel,
and summarizing their legal arguments and decisions.
