Job Title: Library Student Assistant I

Wage:  $15.50 per hour

Hours of Work:  Minimum of 4 hours per week (includes evenings and weekends)

Start date: 08/26/2024

Number of positions available: 0-6

Length of Appointment:  August 26, 2024 – August 31, 2025

Duties:

– Circulation: loans, returns, renewals, holds, monitor collection security, patron registration.
– Handle money
– Basic patron assistance (directional questions, basic catalog and database searches, assist with appointment bookings and greet patrons on appointment, answer the telephone)
– Machine operation, maintenance, and cleaning (computer workstations, printers, photocopiers)
– Assist with closing procedures
And other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

– Full-time or part-time Brandon University student
– Effective communication skills, reading skills and numerical abilities (i.e. attention to detail).
– Physically able to lift library materials, bend to shelve, maneuver large heavy book carts and stand for extended periods of time.
Note:
Successful candidates are responsible for completing both a Child Abuse Registry Check and a Criminal Records Check. Candidates will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
