Professional Services Contract, Dept. of English, Drama & Creative Writing – Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts is seeking qualified Contract Academic Staff (CAS) to provide the following professional services at the Brandon University Campus from January 20 – May 9, 2025:

Working with the Department of English, Drama & Creative Writing, the successful candidate will perform key administrative functions to support the Drama program. The position may include duties as follows:

  1. Work strategically to grow the Drama program
  2. Manage all administrative program requirements including but not limited to course calendar requirements, program manuals and policies, website content, and admissions processes
  3. Manage all properties of the Drama program (costumes, props, sets, etc)
  4. Actively promote the Brandon University Drama program to encourage new students to participate in courses and/or theatrical productions; conduct this promotional activity in person, in writing (email, letters, brochures), information sessions, and social media
  5. Work with other Drama programs to remain current on post-secondary Drama programming best practices, government and theatre-related initiatives, as well as updates for student funding and award opportunities
  6. Complete special projects (such as a theatrical production) on an as-needed basis
  7. Work closely with the Department of English, Drama & Creative Writing to update and administer program-specific admissions requirements and add new courses and/or streams to Drama offerings.

Qualifications: An MFA in Acting or a related field, with a record of successful teaching at the post-secondary level, and with professional theatre experience.

Salary: $55.00/hr for a total of 30hrs per week
