2024/25 Fall Term, Course-Based Contracts, Department of Psychology – Faculty of Science

The Department of Psychology is seeking Contract Academic Staff to teach the following courses in person at Brandon University for the 2024 – 2025 academic year. These courses may be delivered in an online synchronous format, but preference will be given to qualified candidates who will teach in-person.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Psychology is preferred; Masters’ Degree in Psychology is required. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Master’s degree and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee at the address below on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.
  • Applicants must have successful teaching experience and relevant expertise in the specified area.
  • Knowledge and experience with Instructional Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, D2L) would be an asset.

Salary: $6901.00 per 3 credit hour course

82:160 Introduction to Psychology: Part I, 3 credit hours
Students will be given an insight into the foundations of psychology through an examination of the following topics: history and research in psychology, biological and genetic foundations of behaviour, sensation and perception, consciousness, learning, and memory.
Section 4: Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:10 AM – 11:30 AM (slot 11), Fall term (September – December)

82:275 Adolescent Psychology, 3 credit hours
The course will deal with the various stages of development of the adolescent and the particular problems and needs of young people. Tuesday evenings 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Fall term (September – December)
