Barb is a member of George Gordon First Nation in Saskatchewan. She is a Brandon University Alumni and is part of the BU Indigenous Initiatives Committee and the BU Indigenous Advisory Circle.

Barb has lived in Brandon for 23 years and is a Mother to Dawn, Angel, and Michael. She is a Kokum and Mama to many grandchildren and Great Grandmother to Miss Saige Marie.

She is one of the original members of the BU Beading Babes, a beading group that has built a strong community, and is also one of the longest running beading groups in Canada. The Beading Babes were recently featured in the published book "Bead Talk."

Barb is an integral part of the IPC and is loved by students and staff throughout the University and Brandon community.
