Gordon has been teaching at BU for more than fifteen years, in both the School of Music and the Department of English, Drama, and Creative Writing. His most recent piece of writing, "Ruth," has been long-listed for the 2024 CBC Nonfiction Prize; an earlier piece, "Ashes and Sky," was shortlisted for the same prize in 2010. His work as a playwright has been produced, developed, and viewed by audiences in theatres, classrooms, and rehearsal spaces from the west to east coasts of this land. He is also an experienced theatre director, dramaturge, and producer; has received several creation grants from agencies like the Manitoba Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts; and is an experienced, respected mentor to writers of a wide range of experience levels and disciplines.
