Duties:
Student Accessibility Services is seeking Note-Takers to assist with the following:
• Attend class and type spoken communication in the classroom onto a laptop. Everything that is heard will be captured in real time including: lectures, discussions, student questions/comments, presentations, and group activities;
• Edit lecture notes and clarify written material/information;
• Uphold and maintain confidentiality;
• Assist with proctoring in the Test Centre;
• Attend training and communicate regularly with the supervisor; and
• Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Excellent listening skills and demonstrated ability to identify essential components of orally presented information
• Strong note-taking skills
• Knowledge of MS Office 365 and computers
• Excellent knowledge of English grammar, spelling and academic vocabulary
• Strong attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, punctual, organized and self-motivated
• Communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours that correspond to student schedules, including evenings and weekends
• Minimum 2.5 GPA and two years of coursework at the post-secondary level is required
• Knowledge of course content is considered an asset
