Recreation Programming & Events
Music in the Park: Tuesdays 3:00 – 9:00pm
Additional Evening & Weekend Hours
**More than one (1) position may be filled**
Under the general direction of the Recreation Hub Programmer, the incumbents will be required to supervise and assist with activities at various programs and events. This position will have regular hours assisting with Music in the Park program on Tuesday evenings from 3:00pm – 9:00pm, with additional opportunities on evenings and weekends related to programs and events such as fitness classes, art classes, family fun das, and community clean-ups.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and participate in program activities under the direction of the Recreation Hub Programmer;
- Provide leadership and direction to participants and show enthusiasm;
- Provide a safe, cooperative, and enjoyable environment for primary school aged children;
- Adjust program activities to accommodate a variety of group sizes, facilities, interests, and participant skill levels;
- Ensure public health guidelines are adhered to at all times;
- Perform other duties as assigned or required;
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to work successfully independently and in a team atmosphere;
- Able to problem-solve, plan and organize daily activities;
- Excellent public relations skills;
- Demonstrated ability to positively communicate and interact with people of all ages;
- Energetic, creative, and relates positively with children;
Qualifications & Experience
- Emergency First Aid/Level C CPR (to be obtained upon hire);
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check;
- Related experience in recreation, programming, education, instruction, lifetime sports background;
- Previous experience working with children;
- Previous experience working in a multi-ethnic setting

Rate of Pay: $15.30 per hour – 2023 rate
