Manitoba Wildfire Service Initial Attack fire crews are hardworking, highly trained individuals whose job is to fight forest fires throughout Manitoba. Responding by helicopter, float plane, or by
truck; Initial Attack crews are the “first responders” whose job is to suppress wildfires using power pumps, hoses, hand tools and chainsaws. When not responding to fires, our crews focus on training and FireSmart Projects throughout communities and parks.
Wildland firefighting is dirty, tough and physically demanding work, but may be the most rewarding summer job you will ever have. Are you up for it?
