Your days will include:

  • Collecting, entering, and reporting data for various Health & Safety programs
  • Investigating and reporting on incidents, identifying causes, and implementing corrective measures
  • Tracking, recording, maintaining, and reporting incidents and near-miss data to identify and analyze trends
  • Developing and reviewing account-specific processes and procedures to reduce Health & Safety risks and improve performance
  • Monitoring and enforcing compliance with all internal and external health and safety requirements, including atmospheric testing, equipment inspections, fire-extinguisher inspections, and construction inspections
  • Conducting weekly operation and equipment inspections, job observations, and Health & Safety audits
  • Developing Safe Work Procedures and Job Hazard Analysis
  • Communicating observations, non-compliance, and risks to stakeholders and implementing corrective measures

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • Post-secondary education in a Health & Safety related program; an asset
  • Working knowledge of Manitoba Regulation 217, CSA Z432, CSA Z1004, and CSA Z94.4
  • Experience in developing and reviewing Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs)
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Office with the ability to adapt to other software applications
  • Capability of working in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong focus on food safety and workplace safety
  • Experience as a safety trainer is a definite asset
