Description

The coordinator will be responsible for developing and overseeing a district health and wellness program for students. The focus will be on students' mental health and wellness. The coordinator will be responsible for district-wide programming in coordination with school counsellors and physical education teachers.

The ideal candidate will have:

- A degree in Social Work, Nursing or post secondary education experiences is a requirement.

Previous experience

  • should include working with children and implementing school or community health programs or in health promotion.
    - Must be eligible for a Manitoba School Clinician certificate.
    - Extensive experience in providing both individual and group counselling services.
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    - Ability to maintain excellent up-to-date and accurate record keeping.
    - Be culturally proficient when determining appropriate programming for students.
    - Have experience with trauma-informed practices.
    - Have an understanding of Indigenous peoples and multicultural group experiences.
    - Ability to prioritize, plan and deliver programming and supports for schools and students.
    - Ability to work collaboratively with others.
    - Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Wages include one of the most generous packages in the province, and the rate of pay will be determined by our current collective agreement with the Thompson Teachers Association.

Moving Allowance may be available as per Administrative Procedure 2.A.040 available on the School District of
Mystery Lake website.
