Ag-Quest is actively recruiting Summer Students for the 2025 field season. Come join our team! We have multiple positions at our two Manitoba Research Stations at Minto and Elm Creek.

Term: May 1, 2025 – August 29, 2025 (there may be an opportunity to work later into harvest for students not returning to school)

The Summer Research Technician term position will allow individuals to explore a career path in agricultural research. Work as part of a team and independently while assisting Research Associates establish and maintain small plot research trials. During this term individuals will have the opportunity to operate plot equipment (small tractors, implements, sprayers, etc.) and work in the field to collect data on the field trials.

Join the Ag-Quest teams at either Minto or Elm Creek and gain valuable equipment expertise as well as training and experience in scientific principles and sampling techniques. Ag-Quest Research Stations are also located at Ridgedale, Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Taber, Alberta and there are also summer positions at these Stations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Research Station daily
  • Post-secondary students or non-students
  • Strong communication skills and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work extended hours as required

Assets:

  • Any type of previous research or farm experience (include on your application)
  • Enrolled in or completion of science-based programs
  • Comfortable working with small plot equipment, including tractor, seeder, sprayer and combine
