Good Lands Environmental Inc. is a thriving environmental consulting firm offering timely, professional, and practical environmental solutions for the oil and gas industry in southwest Manitoba and southeast Saskatchewan. We are a committed group of professionals who believe in effective delivery of quality project management and reporting services.
Good Lands currently has an opening for a Summer Student based out of our office in Pierson, Manitoba. This is a term position for approximately 16 weeks from May through August, 2025. The successful candidate will work closely with our Program Managers, focusing on the completion of field projects. This is a field-based position; however some office-based work will be required. There may be an opportunity to work remotely (from home) for a portion of the office allocated time.
What will you do?
As a summer student, you will join other field technicians in completion of field projects including groundwater monitoring, detailed site assessments, Phase II environmental site assessments, seeding and fertilizing, and other tasks as required. We will also engage your help with basic office, shop and yard maintenance. Before you begin field work, you will be required to take several safety-related courses which will be paid for by Good Lands. During your time with us, you will be responsible to ensure that you complete daily timesheet entries; a laptop will be provided for your use.
Minimum Requirements
- Actively enrolled in post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in a related field
- Good working knowledge of computers and computer-based programs (excel, word, etc.)
- Enjoy working outdoors and in a team environment
- Willingness to learn
- Strong organizational skills
- Reliable and self-motivated, willing and able to independently execute projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
