Walk

Campus is very walkable, and our central location in Brandon makes us accessible from all directions. There are ample sidewalks on all streets around BU and leading to the campus. There are many marked crosswalks and controlled crossings for your convenience. However, there is no official crosswalk across 20th Street from the parking lots to campus — we are working with the City on this! Please be cautious when driving in this area.

Bike

Biking to campus is convenient and affordable, even in the winter. There are ample racks to lock your bike near most entrance, as well as a secure bike corral at the centre of campus. Brandon University is located along the city’s “Share the Road” east-west bike connector route, and near the 18th/Pacific connection to the City Loop path.

Drive

Many people choose to drive to campus, which easy to get to along city streets, or via Highway 1A (Victoria Avenue) or Highway 10 (18th Street).

Parking

There are many campus parking lots to choose from, and parking is free on weekends or after 4:30 p.m. Most daytime parking in a campus lot requires a permit, although there are some metered spots, and members parking for the Healthy Living Centre. There are also a small number of guest spots near Clark Hall. On-street parking in the immediate vicinity of campus is typically limited to two hours at a time, which is vigorously enforced. There are a limited number of all-day street parking spots, or on-street metered spots.

Taxi

You don’t need to drive yourself! There are several taxi options for getting around Brandon, either to pick you up on campus or to bring you here. Brandon does not have rideshare services (like Uber or Lyft) so taxis are your most convenient choice for occasional vehicle trips.
